Career Readiness
Students learn how to conduct an interview, how to write effective resumes and cover letters, fill out applications, get working papers, social security cards, green cards or other key documents and how to handle an interview. In addition, they're taught how to take responsibility in a job, respond to authority, work as part of a team and set goals for the future.
Corporate Workplace Program
Conducted by corporate volunteers, the program provides students with closer exposure to the work world and the skills necessary to succeed in business. Employees from all levels of a company, from mailroom workers to senior executives, conduct interactive workshops that help the youth learn about different careers and how to prepare for them.
Youth Entrepreneurship Program
This program provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan, develop, and start their own businesses. Students work through all aspects of creating a functioning business: determining legal structure, writing a mission statement, designing marketing materials (logos, flyers, business cards, Web sites), calculating business financials, and writing a business plan. |
